1. How long have you been working as a cop?
Response: He has been working as a cop for 20 years, from 1981-2000
2. Throughout those 20 years, did you make any arrests concerning teenagers who use drugs?
Response: Yes he has, but it was toward the ending of his career he arrested a few teenagers; one in particular for a drug possession charge.
3.When you arrested them did you feel a certain type of way?
Response: He was worried and concerned because with that particular teenager, they used him to catch a bigger culprit and they them turned him into an informant. However, he thought that the bigger culprit was going to hurt the teenager or take out revenge on him.
4. Seeing that you have a daughter so young, do you think that her friends are going to influence her in any type of way?
Response: Friends are a big influence on children especially teens. She should become friends with good students; also he is worried that his daughter would fall into the wrong crowd and lead her into taking or interacting with drugs. Just by talking and explaining drug use to her may help/encourage her to don't be apart of it.
5.Seeing that you have transition from a cop to a teacher, what do you do now to prevent students from using drugs?
Response: Teaches them lessons about drugs and the topic about prohibition laws and anti-drug laws are often brought up, then that causes an elaborate discussion to occur. He tries to steer the conversation toward teaching them about the dangers of interacting with drugs.
